Aromatherapy with Peppermint essential oil (France)

Country of origin: France, Botanical name: Mentha piperita. Steam distilled. Plant part: leaf. Its aroma is strongly piercing, refreshing, minty and very herbaceous.

Helps people become clear headed and refreshes the spirits. Helpful for people who are unable to concentrate or who have mental fatigue. Said to relieve states of anger, hysteria and nervous trembling, excellent for depression.

Peppermint is one of the most useful and versatile essential oils.

Peppermint (Mentha piperita) occasionally grows in the wild, but it is a hybrid between between spearmint and watermint and when growing in the wild it is found near it's parent species.

Peppermint has a long history that dates back as 10,000 years ago when it was used medicinally. Peppermint has a high menthol content. This allows it to be used successfully as a flavoring agent for teas,  toothpastes, mouth rinses, shampoos and culinary. The oil also contains menthone which makes it an effective and natural pesticide.

Blends well with cedarwood, cypress, lavender, niaouli and pine.

You should be able to purchase an ounce of peppermint essential oil for about $10.00.

Have a great day!
