January 2017 Newsletter

Every month I do create a newsletter, features the scents on the list to bring in next, this always changes. I get requests or something catches my eye. I try to keep a balance based categories.... every week is a new adventure.

Happy New Year!

2017 Trends Natural Products Still A Key Player

In the coming year, natural ingredients in personal care products will
continue to be an important marketing tool. Customers are searching
for more transparency in all the products they buy, and will be more
likely to buy products that are “free from” certain ingredients. Natural
and organic will be key players in the market
Fragrances that are In for 2017
Essential, Sophisticated,Comfortably Present,Culinary Inspired,Earthy
Edgy,Gender Neutral,Individuality
Americans will continue to be focused on healthier and secure lifestyle seeking a sense of well -being.   In 2017 Stress chases still with all the media messages focused on fear and fear and negativity.

In 2016 Gen X and Millennials abandoned man made materials for wood, stone, texture and organic origins.

For 2017 We want to describe our things as crafted, not manufactured.   This back basics approach is seen in the growing interest in farmer’s markets, organic and fair trade ingredients, eco friendly packages and crafted products

We don’t want our home fragrance to be akin to plastic either, leaping out at you like Kool Aide on steroids.  Scent too should be a craft.
What’s out in 2017
Artificial, Lacking Complexity, Overpowering, Sugary Sweet, Manufactured, Common
Overtly Feminine, Broadly Distributed Brands
Consumers under 35 don’t want to be labeled or relegated to what they see as common or following.  They want to identify personally and emotionally with the products, they use.  Their relationship with the scents they explore and select will become increasingly intimate, continuing to drive the niche scent trend in home fragrance.

A true classic, fresh and fruity male fragrance of watery top notes, and citrus nuances infused with white flowers of muguet and jasmine. Undeniably sexy notes of coumarin and fresh mint finished with soft woody notes of sandalwood and sweet musk. Stud
Fragrances that are more complex, infused, eco earthy, culinary, edgy, gender neutral scent play out?  It starts with a growing use of florals in exotic and/or unexpected blends.  The color trends around the pastels and tropical hues has them grayed slightly, making them more sophisticated, cool and less fragile.  They are more interesting and unique just as the scents are becoming when a floral is “grayed” with the addition of an opposite scent.

Examples include blending rose with leather, freesia with musk, jasmine with musk or lily with ginger. Tropical scents are also moving from sweet punch to infused cocktails.  They inspire a sense of escapeand adventure, enhanced by the 2016 Olympics being held in Rio.  The few basic tropical fruits that have
dominated this category.

Coming Soon................

Viva la Juicee -
A tantalizing mix of wild berry and mandarin wrapped in the floralcy of summer gardenia, pink jasmine and bright honeysuckle enhanced by vanilla praline, soft woods and amber.

Royal "B"
Treat yourself to regal opulence with this upscale aroma of Egyptian jasmine and Amazon lily enlightened by juicy citrus and fresh roses petals; sitting on base notes of olibanum and white musk.

Raspberry Lemonade.
the mouth-watering combination of ice-cold lemonade, sweet, juicy raspberries; with a unique twist of natural lavender and white musk.
In 2017 they will ba paired with both unusual berries like acai or goji and richer and darker notes like bourbon, sandalwood, juniper berries, ginger, coffee and similar scents.  Interesting new blends will combine mint or a floral like lotus and the tropical category is will be less sweet and sticky  Coconut is a perennial favorite in this category, but it will be reimagined as coconut musk or a version equally unexpected.  And similar to the tropical category, fruits will continue to explore how they can be paired, expressing their bitter as well as their sweet sides. exotically interesting, they must be paired with both unusual berries like acai or goji and richer and darker notes like bourbon, sandalwood, juniper berries, ginger, coffee and similar scents. In 2016 we have seen rhubarb find a strong following with its tang that gives the fragrance a bit of a bite.  Expect this tartness to continue and be merged with floral notes to make fruits even more complex and interesting

in 2017 we will see more of the earthy side of home fragrance. We will see more people shopping for unique finds at the farmer’s market, organic food store. Seeking the grounding effect associated with “natural” and organic also enhances the desire for a healthy lifestyle.

Deep, musky woods are blended with suede and tobacco to create candles that are natural companions to enjoying a distilled and aged beverage.  A few examples include sweet tobacco leaf, sandalwood, Virginian cedar, Tonka bean and  musk) and their suede and smoke (tobacco leaves, moss, papaya, dark tea and green manda).  Think notes like vetiver Tonka, ginger, jasmine, pepper, and even vegetable, herb and green notes like saffron, fennel, carrot and beetroot.

Soy Candles ready for this weekend

      Welcome to Aesthetic Candles
                                                                           www.aesthetic-candles.com/

         We create Earth Friendly Candles

Created from an organic soy wax, we us lead cotton wicks,no paraffin wax or fragrances that contain the "bad stuff". We use only the purest ingredients. Our candle is created using strong and true fragrances, we are very picky when we select them.

Mood is demonstrably affected by scent. Your sense of smell is the strongest sense tied to memory. Over 160 studies tell us that happy people are healthier. Seeking out the right smells could make you a happier person. You catch a whiff of pumpkin pie, school glue, newspaper, or fresh-cut grass and suddenly you’re immersed in a flurry of vivid memories, often from your childhood. What is it about smells that can trigger memories so strong and real it feels like you’ve been transported back in time?

We offer an alternative to “Petro-soot from paraffin candles gives off the same soot as the exhaust of a diesel engine, and is considered just as dangerous as second hand smoke, causing problems from headaches to lung cancer.”
